A lot can change in a few weeks — especially in startup land. Where a month ago I proudly wrote about launching the renewed floown.com website, I now write proudly that that very renewed website has been canned, and a new renewed floown.com website has been launched.
Last week I finally managed to make a start on my new project. I’m not sharing too much yet about what I’m creating exactly, instead I’ll share a little about setting up my computer to make it development-ready After a few conversations with our back-end developer at Floown, we decided that the best way for me to go was using the Laravel framework, possibly in combination with vue.js.
Monday evening I read on Twitter that Glenn Frey passed away; one of the founding members of The Eagles. Having grown up with their music it makes me sad to realise I’ll never see them live again. But also blessed to have actually caught them live two times in the last couple of years. The Eagles have changed my musical life.
It was early December last year when our front-end developer bailed on us. As the person responsible for building and maintaining our website, his absence was at the very least quite annoying. Especially since our website was far from done —it missed critical information and making even the slightest of changes in content was a complete hassle.
2016 is going to be a big year. There’s a couple of reasons why I believe that — I’ll lay them out in a minute — but the number one reason has to be because I’ll be working as my own boss for at least an entire year. That means I’m in control of my own success, and thus responsible for it. So it’ll be very important for me to get the most out of my time. Therefore I decided to create this blog and track my progress publicly.
